The crystallization of limestone floors, i.e. those with a high carbonate content, consists in restoring the shiny appearance of the worn floor. This operation involves the application of a special chemical product, called a “crystallizer”, and its subsequent processing with the passage on the floor of a low-medium speed single-brush machine (from 175 to 400) equipped with a special stainless steel wool disc.
Crystallization effectively replaces plumbing, offering an aesthetic aspect of equal value, but with the advantages of being feasible with a traditional single-brush machine, being easily restored even in limited areas of the entire treated surface and of avoiding the use of lead. FIELDS OF APPLICATION
PV1B is used on marble, travertine, palladian, grit and limestone floors, both for finishing new polished but not leaded floors, and for restoring polish in areas where plumbing has worn out due to heavy traffic. PV1 is widely used in any type of environment, both private and public: condominiums, homes, offices, hotels, banks, airports, hospitals
.METHODS OF USE
Pre-clean the floor thoroughly with DS31B, rinsing very thoroughly.
On a perfectly dry, neutral floor and at a temperature above 10°C, spray a layer of PV1 over a limited area, using the appropriate nebulizer. Run for a few minutes, at low speed, the single brush equipped with a red disc and a coarse-grained stainless steel wool pad. Since the development of heat favors the reaction, persist with the single brush even after the product has dried, until the polish is obtained.
Proceed for adjacent portions of floor until the entire area to be treated is completed.
Repeat the treatment with PV1 for 1 or 2 times until the desired degree of polish is obtained.
Dry re-polish the floor with a fine-grained steel wool disc.
Finally, mop the floor, using, for example, a fringed broom impregnated with MN104, to remove the residues of steel wool, which, by oxidizing, irretrievably stain the surface.
For daily maintenance, wash with D12C, or wet mop with impregnated gauze.
Occasionally restore crystallization at busy points.
Before crystallizing, it is advisable to protect plinths, table legs, furniture bases with PV1B adhesive to prevent them from being stained by projections of crystallization product.
At the end of the crystallization work, it is advisable to pass a damp sponge on the surfaces onto which drops of crystallization product have been projected, which, drying out, are difficult to remove.
